To BE:

Morning arrived, bringing light, bringing life, but I was asleep.

The flowers turned to the sun and opened, but my eyes were closed.

The trees danced with the wind, but I was deathly still.

Night fell, star of day to stars of night, but I was unaware.

You arrived, and suddenly there was light, life, and I awoke.

When you turned your head, my eyes were made to open.

Your every step, a graceful dance, and I was moved.

Night fell, one bright star became a million, and I was suddenly aware.

And now I am truly awake, eyes wide open, moving forward, fully aware.

All these things have come from your words, your mind, your beauty.

I realize my actions express no acknowledgment, no gratitude,

but my heart is filled with a love, an appreciation, like I’ve never known.

My life is now dedicated to finding a way to make things right,

To show you my love, and give to you what you so freely gave to me.

I will be forever longing, forever searching, for the way back to you,

though in my heart and mind, I am with you always.
